The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States.  There are two  SAT sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing.  The SAT also includes an optional Essay section. SAT Essay scores are reported separately from overall test scores. Some colleges may require that you complete the SAT Essay. You can confirm each college's admissions policies on the school website or on our  school profiles.

The ACT is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. The test is intended to assess students' readiness for college. The ACT test covers four academic skill areas: English, mathematics, reading, and scientific reasoning. It also offers an optional direct writing test.

The Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2.0 (TSIA2) is a series of placement tests for students enrolling in public colleges and universities in Texas. The tests help Texas schools determine whether you're ready for college-level courses in the areas of reading, writing, and math.  The TSIA2 is given at Leon High School during the school year.  Please see the counselor for more information.
