News - February 2019
I am very excited as my second year as the Superintendent at Leon ISD winds down. Leon is a place that has great potential and I feel it is one of the best school districts in the state. Every day I see great teaching, student engagement, and a wealth of teamwork among our staff.
Last year we develop a new vision statement “Instilling Pride, Inspiring Excellence.” This statement fits so well with what we do here at Leon. From academics, athletics, or co-curricular activities our students show a pride in their school and preform at a level of excellence that not many schools can accomplish. This past year our Spirit Team won their first state championship after coming in second last year. Our Speech and Debate team is also in position to win a state championship this year after finishing third and second in the state the last two years. The volleyball team is bringing back all their starters after loosing in the Regional finals to the eventual state champion. We are excited about the possibility of capturing our 12 state volleyball championship! This is just a small sample of the great accomplishments our staff and students have achieved.
Over this next year, our focus will remain on continuing to improve our curriculum and facilities while developing a never-ending school pride and eagerness for our students to strive for excellence. The staff at Leon have heard me say that I want Leon ISD to be the best! By developing a culture of continuous improvement and focus on our vision, WE WILL REACH OUR GOAL.
